9 month old rule out right inguinal hernia


 




A small hydrocele is seen in the tunica vaginalis.The main finding is a septated fluid collection seen in the region of the spermatic cord.

Diagnosis: SPERMATIC CORD HYDROCELE

Spermatic cord hydrocele ( SCH ) is a loculated fluid collection along the spermatic cord, separated from and located above the testicle and the epididymis.

Rare congenital anomaly and results from an abnormal closure of the processus vaginalis.

Clinical presentation: Firm groin swelling.

DD: Incarcerated inguinal hernia

Inguinal lymphadenopathy

Extratesticulat tumor

Ectopic testis

TWO TYPES

Encysted hydrocele of the cord ( EH)

Funicular hydrocele (FH) - Fluid collection along the cord, communicates with peritoneum at the internal ring.
